A perfect day at Kijkduin
A perfect day at Kijkduin
oil on canvas, 30 x 60 cm ( 12 x 23.5 inches)
SOLD
Hello fellow art lovers,
Positioned next to the beach pavilion "De Kwartel", together this time with my friend Frits de Groot, I made this work. There was hardly any wind, a great day to take a stroll on the beach,
just as this young lady is doing with her pet dog, who seems to be enjoying getting his paws wet.
It is not easy to create a successful seascape, especially when there are few elements that go to make up the composition. Apart from the gently rolling waves breaking on the shoreline, leaving
a then layer of water reflecting the crystal clear blue sky, not much is happening. So in this work the pole on the bottom left corner is playing a major role, together with the young lady and
tilted yellow buoy, seen in the distance, go to form a triangle, creating the illusion of depth.
So, there you have it, I'm giving all my secrets away!
Have a happy Easter weekend,
Alberto, il pittore
