Winter Seascape # 10, Sailing the high winds.

oil on canvas
16 x 24 cm
painted on location, South Beach, The Hague.

Again thanks to the building of the beach pavillion "De Kwartel", I was able to position myself out of the wind. I like the way I captured the sailboat in action. I had a sailboat already painted, but it was not to convincing. Thank God this sailer was calling it a day, thus returning to the shelter of Scheveningen harbour, I had just enough time to record his actions.

Who doesn't love the ocean? The layers of the water are beautifully done.

Thanks Mary,

The sea is a great subject. And am glad it is loved by almost everyone. Helps me make a living.
