Trompestraat, Delft

oil on canvas,
16 x 24 cm
painted on location, Mon 3 March

Probably the most picturesque city in Holland, Delft is a most welcome location for a plien-air painter such as myself. The play of light on that tiny hotel at the end of the street was what attracted me to set up and make this todays wet painting.

Colours are very true whilst the subject is courageously abstracted, especially in the middle ground. The way you carry the sky and its reflections round to the foreground v skilfull. Not overdone. jxx
