View of South Beach, The Hague, #4/09

Windy conditions with Scheveningen's Pier in the distance
oil on masonite
10 x 15 cm (postcard size)
painted on location Saturday 16 may 2009  -   SOLD

A little price to pay for such an expansive view. Just a quick sketch done in oils. Sometimes the less you do, the more you get accomplished. The bottom half of the beach was done with one broad brush stroke, the upper portion shows the prepaired ground I painted on. The sun was shining on the pier for only a few minutes at a time, now and then, during the duration of my recording this scene. Sorry about the sand, I guess Mother Nature wanted to add her part. It will come off eventually, once the paint is good and dry.
