Surfers paradijs
oil on canvas - 60 x 100 cm
painted on location - Wed 18 Sept 2019
SOLD
It's not like this all the time, but now and again, you get these beautiful skies and waves on the Sea, that make this beach truly a surfers paradise. Was a pleasure to make this painting, first time I've painted surfers on a painting.

The Hague's South beach, Evening llight
Zuiderstrand s'Avonds
oil on canvas - 30 x 60 cm
painted on location - Thurs. 12 Sept 2019
SOLD
On a very windy beach, this painting was made. Lovely warm light from a descending Sun casts an intense light, softened up by all that sand blowing in the wind. I can never tire from painting this scenery. It is now being enhanced by the Strandbeesten by artist Theo Jansen. (those yellow strips on the sand, almost in the middle of painting)

Het woest golf - (the wild wave)
oil on canvas - 30 x 30 cm
painted on location - Sept 6 2019
SOLD
The summer is definitely over, hopefully we might get a spree of Indian Summer, later this month, but those warm sunny summer lazy days at the beach are behind us. Anyway as you can see still interesting subject matter to paint, thus am still getting out there. I rather enjoyed making that close up of the wild wave, thickly painted, with very clear brushstrokes, a sort of homage to the great master Vincent.

The Hofvijver, # 12 and # 5 (re-painted)
oil on canvas - 20 x 30 cm
painted on location - Tues 27 Aug 2019
SOLD
I have returned to a subject which was started last year in the Fall. In my opinion one of The Hague's most picturesque corners. Here I made a quick oil sketch, characterized by loose brush strokes, nothing is really perfect, however it pulls together well, making it easy to visually digest.
oil on canvas - 60 x 90 cm
painted on location - Thurs 29 Aug 2019
SOLD
This work was originally painted in the Fall of 2018. The shadows were much deeper, giving it greater contrast. I decided to lighten up the whole scenery thus a re-visit with the sunnier light situation. And a major change was the removal of a lamp pole, on the right side of the painting, have a look for yourself here below.
Family outing with beloved pet
Familie uitje met gelieved hond
oil on canvas - 40 x 100 cm
painted on location and in studio - July/Aug 2019
SOLD
After an early dinner the family takes the dog out for a stroll on the beach. For the dog, this is a real treat. Has all the room in the world to run about, they could socialise with other dogs, as this is neutral territory. And after all, it's good for the owners as well, a little physical exercises never did anyone harm.
